Animal Welfare Forward explores how stronger collaboration, shared knowledge, and systems thinking can improve animal welfare outcomes in South East Asia.

About

Animal Welfare Forward is an emerging initiative exploring how stronger collaboration and shared knowledge can support organisations working to improve animal welfare.Across the world, animal welfare groups, veterinarians, and advocates work tirelessly to protect animals and improve standards of care. However, many organisations face similar challenges while operating with limited resources and often in isolation.Animal Welfare Forward is exploring how organisations, professionals, and communities can work together more effectively to strengthen the systems that support animal welfare.

Why now?

Demand for improved animal welfare continues to grow as societies change and awareness increases. At the same time, many organisations working in the sector face growing pressure, limited funding, and fragmented systems. There is increasing recognition that meaningful progress requires not only dedicated organisations, but also stronger collaboration, shared knowledge, and long-term strategic thinking.Animal Welfare Forward is exploring how these approaches can help strengthen the broader animal welfare ecosystem.

Current Focus

Animal Welfare Forward is currently focused on listening and learning from those working across the sector. This includes:• Speaking with animal welfare organisations and rescue groups
• Engaging with veterinarians and researchers
• Exploring opportunities for collaboration
• Identifying shared challenges and systemic barriers
These conversations will help shape the future direction of the initiative.

Why I'm doing this

My name is Jennie. After spending time with animal welfare organisations across Southeast Asia, I became convinced that prevention is one of the most effective ways to reduce suffering long term.Rescue organisations do incredible work, but rescue alone cannot solve a problem that continues to grow.Operation Break the Cycle is my commitment to tackling the root cause through targeted sterilisation programmes and measurable impact.

Where does the money go?

All funds raised through Operation Break the Cycle will be allocated to vetted sterilisation partners operating in Southeast Asia.Funding allocations, receipts and impact updates will be published publicly throughout the campaign.Because you're funding the future, not just responding to the crisis.
